The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for portions of Northwest Washington and West Central Washington including the following counties: Clallam, Grays Harbor, Jefferson, Kitsap, Mason, Skagit, Whatcom, King, Lewis, Pierce, Snohomish, and Thurston.
The Flood Watch is effective from Friday afternoon through Sunday morning.
According to forecasters, several rounds of moderate to heavy rainfall are expected into the weekend. Rivers are expected to rise, with some reaching Flood Stage as early as Friday evening. Heavy rainfall may also cause periods of minor urban flooding. The exact placement of heaviest rainfall remains uncertain and will have a direct influence on the magnitude and placement of flooding. Widespread minor to moderate river flooding is most likely, but major flooding cannot be ruled out.
