The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Skokomish River at Potlatch. According to forecasters, persistent rainfall through the day today and continued rainfall through the evening will cause the Skokomish River to rise about
flood stage this evening.
Minor flooding is forecast with moderate flooding possible Thursday. The river will rise above the 16.5-foot flood stage around 7 PM Tuesday and crest near 17.6 feet around 4 PM Thursday.
At 17.5 feet, the Skokomish River will cause moderate flooding, with deep and quick flood waters inundating some residential areas, many roads, and much of the farm land in the Skokomish Valley. Inundated roads include the Skokomish Valley Road, Bourgault Road West, Purdy Cutoff Road, and Highway 106.
