Two failure to yeild crashes in Mason County Sunday injured two people. One in Belfair in front of the McDonalds. The other on U.S. Highway 101 near Brockdale Road.
The first crash was around 1 PM on on Highway 3 near the McDonald’s in Belfair. According to the Washington State Patrol, a 2003 Chrysler minivan was at the stop sign on Ridgepoint Boulevard at State Route 3. The minivan pulled in front of a northbound 2015 Toyota RAV4.
The driver of Toyota, a 52-year-old Bremerton woman, was injured and driven to Mason General Hospital in Shelton.
The driver of the minivan, a 43-year-old Bremerton man, was not injured.
The second crash occurred about an hour later on U.S. Highway 101 at Brockdale Road. A 2001 Chevrolet Silverado pickup was stopped at the stop sign on Brockdale Road. The truck pulled out to turn southbound on 101 in front of a northbound 1992 Kenworth semi truck.
The driver of the pick up, a 79-year-old Shelton man, was transported to Mason General Hospital in Shelton and then airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
The driver of the sem, a 28-year-old Sequim man, was not injured.
