The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Skokomish River. The heavy rain that started overnight will continue at times today and will drive the Skokomish above the 16.5-foot flood stage this afternoon.The Flood Warning is in effect until Thursday afternoon.
Moderate flooding is forecast. The River will rise above flood stage around 11 AM Monday and crest near 17.6 feet around 10 PM Monday. The river will fall slowly to below flood stage early Thursday morning.
At 17.5 feet, the Skokomish River will cause moderate flooding, with deep and quick flood waters inundating some residential areas, many roads, and much of the farm land in the Skokomish Valley. Inundated roads include the Skokomish Valley Road, Bourgault Road West, Purdy Cutoff Road, and Highway 106.
