Basketball: Shelton Boys Win, Girls Fall

The Shelton boys’ basketball team had little trouble with Rochester Friday as the Highclimbers knocked off their former coach’s team 61 to 21.

The ‘Climbers started the game on fire, jumping out to an 8-0 lead and never looking back, holding the Warriors to three points in the second quarter and two points in the third. The win snaps Shelton’s three-game losing skid.

The Highclimbers were led by Ethan Clevenger’s 17 points. The senior guard hit three three-pointers in the first half. Tyler Auld also hit three three’s and had a four-point play, finishing with 14 points.

Shelton evened it’s record at 5-and-5. The ‘Climbers return to South Sound Conference play Wednesday at North Thurston.

The Shelton girls’ basketball team lost at Auburn Friday 54 to 18. The Lady Highclimbers drop to 3-and-6 on the season. They return to South Sound Conference play Wednesday at home against North Thurston. MasonWebTV Powered by HCC will broadcast the game live.
