Three people were injured in a two-car crash on State Route 3 at the intersection with Grapeview Loop Road South Wednesday morning.
A Washington State Patrol press memo says a 2002 Subaru Legacy westbound on Grapeview Loop Road South failed to yield at the stop sign on SR-3 about 4 AM and pulled in front of a northbound 2015 Volkswagen Jetta. The VW struck the Subaru and the cars came to rest in the southbound lane. The highway was partially closed for four hours while Troopers investigated.
The driver of the Jetta, a 21-year-old Shelton man, was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. A passenger in the VW, a 19-year-old Shelton man, was transported to Mason General Hospital in Shelton.
The driver of the Subaru, a 50-year-old Grapeview man, was transported to Harrison Hospital in Bremerton.
The memo indicates that drugs or alcohol were involved and the Grapeview man could face vehicular assault and DUI charges.
