[VIDEOS] The Mary M. Knight football team slipped by Oakville Saturday 22 to 20 and secured playoff spot.
The Owls struck first, taking their game opening drive some 60-yards on two plays with Quinnton Krippelcz scoring on a quarterback keeper.
The Acorns evened the game up late in the first half and had a 40-yard touchdown pass called back on a penalty just before halftime.
Oakville got its first lead late in the third but failed to convert on the two-point conversion putting the Acorns up 14 to 8.
MMK responded on the last play of the third quarter when Dylan Ralph took a pass from Krippelcz 15 yards for the score.
The boys from Matlock took the lead back on the two-point conversion by Krippelcz.
Owls up 16 to 14 at the end of three quarters.
The Acorns regained the lead with 5:37 remaining in the game but again couldn’t get the conversion and had a 20 to 16 lead.
Mary M. Knight responded again with Krippelcz going 28 yards for the go ahead TD.
With 1:25 remaining: MMK 22, Oakville 20.
The Owl defense then secured the win which, according to MMK Coach Tom Kerr, also secured a playoff spot.
