A 61-year-old Grapeview man was injured in a head-on crash on State Route 3 Saturday afternoon.
A collision memo from the Washington State Patrol says a 1996 Ford Ranger pickup was northbound on SR-3 about 4:45 PM. At milepost 10 (north of Lavender Lane), an uninvolved vehicle in front of the truck slowed for a maintenance vehicle on the side of the highway. The truck swerved into the southbound lane to avoid a collision and collided with a southbound Subaru Forester head-on. Both vehicles ame to rest in the southbound lane.
The driver of the Subaru was transported to Mason General Hospital in Shelton.
No other injuries were reported.
The memo indicates that speed was a factor in this collision.
