The Shelton and North Mason football teams lost Friday while the Mary M. Knight football team picked up its first win of the season Thursday.
In a rare Thursday game, Mary M. Knight used its size advantage to pull away from the Washington School for the Deaf as the Owls beat the Terriers 39 to 12. Examples of that size difference: two Eddy Krippelcz to Isaiah Compton touchdown passes; Corbin Thompson powers in for a 2-point conversion; and Reese Tottie running over people.
The boys from Matlock take their 1-and-3 record to 2-and-2 South Bend next Friday.
The Shelton football team was shut out at Peninsula Friday 55 to 0 on MasonWebTV Powered by HCC. The Highclimbers were held to 74 yards of offense while the Seahawks racked up 440 (266 yards on the ground, 145 yards in the air) taking advantage of three Shelton turnovers and scoring on all but one of their possessions. Shelton did play a clean game with only one penalty. The Highclimbers host Central Kitsap next Friday and MasonWebTV Powered by HCC will broadcast the game live from Jack Stark Field at Highclimber Stadium.
The North Mason football team dropped to 2-and-2 on the season Friday falling to Sequim 27 to 16. The Wolves built a 21 to 8 halftime lead. The Bulldogs head to Bremerton next Friday.
