The Shelton football team was shutout by Montesano Friday 55 to 0. The Highclimbers were unable to overcome three turnovers and the Bulldogs took advantage of short fields with only three possessions starting on their side of the 50.
Montesano racked up 319 yards of offense with 149 coming through the air as Trace Ridgway completed 12 of 15 passes.
Shelton’s quarterback, Danny Mendiola-Lopez, was 11 for 15 with 78 yards. Charlie Hurt caught three passes for 29 yards and Christian Lopez grabbed three balls for 28 yards. Gaven Gould led the ‘Climbers’ ground attack with 10 carries for 25 yards.
Shelton drops to 0-and-2 and opens South Sound Conference play next Friday against Capital at Ingersoll Stadium. Kick off is 7 PM.
The North Mason football team improved to 2-and-0 knocking off Klahowya 40 to 6. The Bulldogs lead 13 to 0 after the first quarter and 27 to 0 at the half. The boys from Belfair increase their lead to 33 to 0 after three quarters. North Mason travels to Olympic next Friday. Kickoff in Silverdale is 6:30 PM.
