Car Eluding Troopers Crashes on 106

A 32-year-old Belfair man was injured when his car struck a power pole while fleeing a State Trooper on Highway 106 Saturday night.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the man was driving a 2012 Dodge Challenger westbound on SR-106 at a high rate of speed in an attempt to elude a WSP patrol car about 10:45 PM. The driver lost control of the car and struck the pole two miles southwest of Belfair (in the 1800 block of 106). Debris from the collision struck four parked cars, causing “reportable” damage.

The driver, identified as Isaac J. Fellin, was transported by aid car to Harrison Hospital in Bremerton.

The westbound lane of State Route 106 was closed until about 8 AM Sunday while utility crews replaced the damaged pole.

A press memo indicates the cause of the crash was speed and drugs or alcohol are also suspected as contributing factors. Fellin could be charged with DUI and Eluding.
