Pedestrian Struck by Car in Shelton

A 79-year-old Shelton man was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after being struck by a car on Olympic Highway South in Shelton Friday night.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the man was wearing all dark clothes and stepped in front of the 2012 Toyota Yaris about 10:30 PM. The car was southbound on Olympic Highway South and struck him in the 1600 block which is between Bellevue Avenue and Cascade Avenue.

Troopers are investigating the cause.

The pedestrian has been identified as Micheal E. Gaskill.

No one in the Toyota was injured.
