State Highway Construction 6/30 to 7/6

The following is a summary of road construction and maintenance scheduled on state highways around Mason County and adjacent areas from June 29, 2019 to July 6, 2019.

US 101 – Coffee Creek – Remove Fish Barrier

Highway: SR 3 Region: Olympic County: Kitsap Location: Milepost(s) 346.8
Description: Crews will realign a portion of Coffee Creek in order to remove barriers to fish. This project also will rebuild the southbound exit to Shelton-Matlock Road. 
Work Schedule: Crews will soon install orange signs before and after the work zone on Shelton-Matlock Road and West Railroad Avenue. The majority of the work will have little effect on travelers. 


Highway: SR 108 Region: Olympic County: Mason Location: Milepost(s) 3.6 to 11
Description: One-way alternating traffic in several locations of SR 108 for asphalt repair.
Work Schedule: 7:30a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, July 1. 

Highway: SR 108 Region: Olympic County: Mason Location: Milepost(s) 8 to 11
Description: One-way alternating traffic in several locations of SR 108 for asphalt repair. 
Work Schedule: 7:30a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 2. 

Highway: SR 119 Region: Olympic County: Mason Location: Milepost(s) 0.1 to 10.9
Description: One-way alternating traffic as crews remove and replace centerline roadway markings. 
Work Schedule: 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, July 1-2. 

Highway: SR 300 Region: Olympic County: Kitsap Location: Milepost(s) 0.1 to 3.3
Description: Slow moving vehicle will install a fresh coat of reflective paint striping. Please watch for “wet paint” warning signs and warning trucks. Do not cross wet paint.
Work Schedule: 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 2. 

Highway: SR 8 Region: Olympic County: Thurston Location: Milepost(s) 10.5 to 20.6
Description: Slow moving vehicle in both directions for vegetation management. 
Work Schedule: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, June 24-27.

Highway: SR 302 Region: Olympic County: Pierce Location: Milepost(s) 5 to 10.4
Description: One-way alternating traffic with flaggers as utility crews for Peninsula Light conduct vegetation management. 
Work Schedule: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each Tuesday through Friday through June 28.

Highway: SR 108 Region: Olympic County: Kitsap Location: Milepost(s) 3.6 to 4.2

Highway: US 101 Region: Olympic County: Jefferson Location: Milepost(s) 283 to 294
Description: Slow moving vehicle for vegetation management. Crews will pull over as needed to let traffic pass. 
Work Schedule: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, June 24 through Thursday, Aug. 1. 

Highway: US 101 Region: Olympic County: Jefferson Location: Milepost(s) 285.5 to 288
Description: Single lane and shoulder closure with flaggers as utility crews for Jefferson County PUD perform vegetation management. 
Work Schedule: 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each weekday beginning Tuesday, June 18 through Tuesday, July 2. 

Additional Construction

SR 302 – E of Elgin Clifton Rd to SR 16 – Remove Fish Barriers, Paving and ADA Compliance
Highway: 302 Region: Olympic County: Pierce Location: Milepost(s) 10.8 to 16.9
Description: This project removes and replaces three fish barrier culverts under SR 302 with fish passable structures and repaves nearly 7 miles of highway along with ADA improvements for bicyclists and pedestrians.
Work Schedule: During construction, drivers should expect daytime lane and shoulder closures, extended weekend closures, extended on- and off-ramp closures and up to a full, week long closure of the Purdy Spit for deck repairs.  Project webpage.

Mox Chehalis Road Bridge Replacement
 Mox Chehalis Road (south of SR 8 near McCleary) Region: Olympic County: Grays Harbor Location: Milepost(s) 7.8 to 7.9
