Two Belfair residents were involved in a three-vehicle collision on Highway 16 near Port Orchard Sunday but were not injured.
A Washington State Patrol press memo says three pickup trucks (a 1994 Nissan, a 1994 Toyota and a 2011 Nissan) were eastbound on SR-16 just before 6 PM. At the Tremont Street interchange, the 1994 Nissan was in lane 2 while the other two trucks were in lane 1. The 1994 Nissan crossed into lane 1 and struck the the Toyota and the 2011 Nissan. The 1994 Nissan continued onto the shoulder, left the roadway, struck the guardrail and several trees.
The only injury was to the driver of the 1994 Nissan pickup. William A. Wallace, 63 of Bremerton, was transported by aid car to Tacoma General Hospital. His truck was totaled and impounded.
The driver of the 1994 Toyota pickup was identified as Victoria L. Worm, 34 of Belfair. The driver of the 2011 Nissan Frontier pickup was Sam P. Turnman, 44 of Belfair. Again neither were injured. Both their trucks sustained what Troopers call “non-reportable” damage and were driven from the scene.
Cause of the crash is under investigation.
