Two new records were set Saturday during the Mason County Forest Festival Goldsborough Creek Run and Walk. There were 142 participants including 11 Junior Joggers (age 3-8) and two senior walkers (age 65+).
The records were set in the men’s two-mile run and the men’s seven-mile run.
Shelton’s William Johnson set the two-mile record with a time of 9 minutes 27 seconds beating his old record set last year by 9 seconds.
Shelton’s Matt Lowe set the seven-mile record with a time of 37 minutes, 36 seconds, beating the previous record set in 2015 by 1 minute, 15 seconds.
In a new category in the seven-mile run, Frank Dorual from Shelton set a new record using a recumbent bike for the disabled. Time of 42:24.
2 Mile Run
Male overall winner was William Johnson of Shelton, with a time of 9:27 (course record.)
Female overall winner was Sarah Johnson, with a time of 11:51.
7 Mile Run
Male overall was Matt Lowe of Shelton with a time of 37:36 (course record.)
Female overall was Dawn LaGrou of Shelton with a time of 59:25.
7 Mile Walk
Female overall winner was Ana Andrews of Shelton, with a time of 1:06:43.
Male overall winner was Justin Scott of Shelton, with a time of 1:06:38.
