After two days of competition in the WCD/SWD 3A District Track & Field Meet at Sunset Chevrolet Stadium in Sumner, four from Shelton have qualified for the 3A State Track & Field Championships in five events.
The Highclimbers were led by McKenzie Salazar-Fox who took the District Championship in the girls’ shot put.
Victoria Silverman placed 2nd in the girls’ 100-meter hurdles and was 3rd in the 300-meter hurdles.
William Johnson finished 2nd in the boys’ 1600 meters.
Brock Knowles was 4th in the boys’ 800 meters.
The top five advance to State.
‘Climbers who competed in District but didn’t qualify for state: Alauna Carstens, Austyen Cralle, Trinity Payment, Ethan Bursch, Sirius James, Sebastian Engel and Kyle McGregor.
The 3A State Meet is Thursday, May 23rd through Saturday, May 25th at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma.
