Two people were injured in a four-vehicle, chain reaction crash on southbound Highway 3 near Lake Flora Road Wednesday.
The Washington State Patrol says a 2018 Subaru Impreza, a 2018 Chevrolet Trax and a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu were stopped for traffic just south of Lake Flora Road about 5 PM when a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado pickup failed to stop and struck the Malibu. The sedan then struck the Trax which was pushed into the Subaru.
The driver of the pickup, identified as Calvin D. McKinley, 30 of Shelton, was injured and transported by aid car to Harrison Hospital in Bremerton.
A passenger in the Trax, Margaret R. Morrell, 69 of Hoquiam, was also injured but not transported.
The driver of the Malibu, Karen M. Wytko, 62 of Grapreview; the driver of the Trax, Thomas E. Morrell, 74 of Hoquiam; the driver of the Subaru, Scott L. Sargent, 54 of Shelton; and a passenger in the Impreza, Molly A. Blankenship, 54 of Shelton were not injured.
The trooper’s report indicates that speed was a contributing factor in the crash. Also, McKinley has a suspended license.
Only the Subaru was driven from the scene. The other vehicles had to be towed.
