The North Mason baseball team took 4th place in the 2A West Central District Tournament Saturday after falling to River Ridge 7 to 3 in the Bulldogs’ second game of the day.
The boys from Belfair scored first, getting a run in the 1st inning (on a two-out single by Ethan Collins that scored Preston Macomber) and two runs in the 3rd inning (on a double by Troy McCormick that scored Jakob Stark and Mason Fisher.)
The Hawks responded in their half of the 3rd getting two runs; tied the game in the 4th on a wild pitch; took the led with two runs in the 5th inning; and added an insurance run in the 6th.
North Mason managed nine hits.
Brenden Kimball was 1 for 4 at the plate.
Preston Macomber went 2 for 4.
Jakob Stark was 2 for 3.
Mason Fisher was 1 for 4.
Ethan Collins was 1 for 4 with an RBI.
Troy McCormick went 1 for 3 with a double and two RBI.
Mason Shumaker was 1 for 3.
The Bulldogs take their 12-and-11 record to the Class 2A State Tournament Round of 16 on Saturday, May 18th. North Mason plays Liberty at Daniels Field in Anacortes. First pitch is 1 PM.
