Shelton Softball Wins Sixth Straight, District Bound

The Shelton fast pitch softball team wrapped up the regular season Wednesday with a 15 to 10 win at Central Kitsap. With the win, the Highclimbers – who have won their last six games – take fourth place in the South Sound Conference and the fourth seed into the West Central / Southwest District Tournament. Shelton plays the number three team from the Pierce County League (which appears to be Spanaway Lake) at 2 PM Thursday, May 16th. District games are being played at the Regional Athletic Complex (RAC) in Lacey. The Highclimbers finish the regular season with a 9-and-10 overall record, 6-and-8 in the SSC.

Some of the highlights from the ‘Climbers’ win over CK:

Kamryn Hyland hit two home runs and batted in four runs.
Maleah Walsh had two doubles and two RBI.
Alex Walters had a double and three RBI.
Alyssa Wilhite had an RBI.

MasonWebTV Powered by HCC left the game in Silverdale with two out in the top of the 5th inning. Alex Walters had just hit a two-run double and Phoenix Miller was coming up. Shelton was leading 11 to 8.
