State Highway Construction 5/5 to 5/11

The following is a summary of road construction and maintenance scheduled on state highways around Mason County and adjacent areas from May 5, 2019 to May 11, 2019.

Maintenance

Highway: US 101 Region: Olympic County: Mason Location: Milepost(s) 348.9
Description: Shoulder closures in both directions and intermittent rolling slowdowns for tree removal.
Work Schedule: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each Monday through Thursday through May 9.

Highway: SR 108 Region: Olympic County: Mason Location: Milepost(s) 4.2 to 12
Description: Slow moving vehicle in both directions for vegetation management.
Work Schedule: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each Monday through Thursday through May 9.

Highway: SR 119 Region: Olympic County: Mason Location: Milepost(s) .08 to 10.8
Description: One-way alternating traffic for utility work.
Work Schedule: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each weekday through May 31. No work Memorial Day weekend from Friday through Monday, May 24-27.

Highway: SR 108 Region: Olympic County: Grays Harbor Location: Milepost(s) 2 to 12
Description: Weather permitting, drivers will encounter a slow moving vehicle and a single lane closure as needed for routine vegetation management along the highway. Crews will pull over to let traffic pass as needed. 
Work Schedule: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each Monday through Thursday from Monday, April 22 through Thursday, May 9. 

Highway: SR 8 Region: Olympic County: Grays Harbor Location: Milepost(s) 0 to 11.5
Description: Weather permitting, drivers will encounter a single lane closure for routine vegetation management along the highway. 
Work Schedule: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each Monday through Thursday from Monday, April 22 through Thursday, May 9. 

Highway: SR 8 Region: Olympic County: Grays Harbor Location: Milepost(s) 0 to 11.5
Description: Single lane closure for guidepost repairs and sign washing. 
Work Schedule: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, May 6 through Thursday, May 9.

Construction

US 101 – Old Gardiner Rd to N of W Uncas Rd – Paving and Bridge Deck Repair
Highway: 
US 101 Region: Olympic County: Jefferson Location: Milepost(s) 275.8 to 283.9
Description: Drivers can expect one-way alternating traffic during overnight hours as crews repave nearly 8 miles of US 101 from east of the Clallam-Jefferson County line to north of the US 101/SR 104 interchange. Travelers can expect overnight, single lane closures each weekday through late summer until work is complete. During the overnight closures, drivers will follow a pilot car through the work zone. Work Schedule: During construction, travelers will encounter overnight single lane closures with a pilot car beginning Monday, April 22. Crews will work from 8 p.m. each Monday through Friday night to 9 a.m. the following day until project completion.

SR 302 – E of Elgin Clifton Rd to SR 16 – Remove Fish Barriers, Paving and ADA Compliance
Highway: 302 Region: Olympic County: Pierce Location: Milepost(s) 10.8 to 16.9
Description: This project removes and replaces three fish barrier culverts under SR 302 with fish passable structures and repaves nearly 7 miles of highway along with ADA improvements for bicyclists and pedestrians.
Work Schedule: During construction, drivers should expect daytime lane and shoulder closures, extended weekend closures, extended on- and off-ramp closures and up to a full, weeklong closure of the Purdy Spit for deck repairs.  Project webpage.

Mox Chehalis Road Bridge Replacement
