The Shelton fast pitch softball team won its second game in a row and third in the South Sound Conference Wednesday knocking off North Thurston 10 to 5.
The Highclimbers scored six runs in the 3rd inning to erase a two run Ram lead. The ‘Climbers added two insurance runs in the 5th and two more in the 6th.
Maleah Walsh led Shelton going 3 for 4 at the plate with two doubles and three RBI.
Camryn Hyland went 2 for 3 with a double and two RBI.
Emily Morris was 1 for 3 with a double and two RBI.
Malina Stephen was 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI.
Taya Gouley went 2 for 3 and batted in a run. Gouley picked up the win in the pitching circle going 5 2/3 innings allowing four runs on five hits, striking out six and walking one.
The Highclimbers improved to 5-and-10 on the season, 3-and-8 in the SSC. Shelton hosts Peninsula Thursday. MasonWebTV Powered by HCC will broadcast the game between the ‘Climbers and the Seahawks.
The North Mason fast pitch team lost to Port Angeles 18 to 4. The Lady Bulldogs had a 4 to 3 lead heading into the 7th inning when the Roughriders scored 15 runs. The girls from Belfair were led in the loss by Kaylee Huffman who went 3 for 3 at the plate and batted in two runs. Amber Johnson was 2 for 4 with a solo home run. Carlie Craig was 1 for 3 with a double and an RBI. North Mason drops to 7-and-9 on the season, 4-and-6 in the Olympic League. The teams play again next Tuesday at Port Angeles.
