The Shelton baseball team couldn’t stop Stadium Friday as the Tigers exploded for six runs in the 4th inning on their way to an 11 to 5 non-conference victory over the Highclimbers.
Leading Shelton in the loss was Max “Falcon” Johnson was was 2 for 2 at the plate with a double, three RBI and a run scored. Matthew Osberg was 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI. Caeleb Hitsman batted in a run and scored a run. Brenden Wagner was 1 for 3 with a double.
Shelton drops to 6-and-8 on the season. The ‘Climbers return to South Sound Conference play Monday at conference leading Gig Harbor.
The Shelton fastpitch softball team lost at Timberline Friday 9 to 8. The Blazers came from behind to snatch victory away from the Highclimbers, scoring the winning run on a wild pitch with two out in the bottom of the 7th. Shelton was led in the loss by Kamryn Hyland who was 1 for 3 at the plate with a double, three RBI and a run scored. Phoenix Miller went 2 for 4 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored. Maleah Walsh was 3 for 4 with a double and a runs scored. Alexandra Walters was 2 for 4 with a double and two runs scored. Hailey Mentzer was 1 for 3. And Patricia Dugger and Taya Gouley scored a run each. The Lady-‘Climbers are now 2-and-8 on the season, 0-and-6 in the South Sound Conference. Shelton hosts Central Kitsap Monday. The Shelton girls’ track and field team performed well at the Wolfpack Invitational Friday. Top Lady Highclimbers:
Victoria Silverman won the girls’ 100-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles.
McKenzie Salazar-Fox took the girls’ shot put and placed 2nd in the girls’ discus.
Austyne Cralle was 2nd in the girls’ triple jump.
The relay team of Austyne Cralle, Trinity Payment, Kamdan Nicklaus and Victoria Silverman place 2nd in the girls’ 4x 100.
Alauna Carstens finished 3rd in the girls’ 3200 meters.
Top placing athlete on the Shelton boys’ team was Ethan Bursch who placed 2nd in the 800 meters.
The Highclimber track and field teams head to Central Kitsap Tuesday.
The North Mason baseball team used a six-run 3rd inning Friday and beat Chimacum 9 to 3. Mason Fisher led the Bulldogs going 2 for 3 at the plate with three RBI. Fisher also picked up the win on the mound pitching seven innings allowing three runs on three hits, striking out 10 and walking three. Troy McCormick went 2 for 3 with two RBI and scored two runs. Caden North was 3 for 4 batting in a run and scoring a run. Jakob Stark and Preston Macomber each batted in a run. The boys from Belfair improved to 6-and-6 on the season. North Mason travels to Olympic League leading Port Angeles Monday.
The North Mason boys’ soccer team blanked Olympic Friday two-nil (2 to 0). The Bulldogs swept their season series with the Trojans to improved to 4-6-and-1 on the season, 2-and-5 in the Olympic League. The boys from Belfair host Kingston Tuesday.
The North Mason girls’ tennis team beat Bremerton Friday 6 to 1. The Lady Bulldogs host Kingston Monday.
