The man suspected of burglarizing a Shelton School District construction site has been arrested.
On March 21st, Shelton Police investigated a burglary at the Mt. View Elementary School construction site. Video footage of the suspect was released to the community, and shortly thereafter the alleged burglar was identified as 29-year-old Shelton man, Shadoe E. Atesar.
Monday at 5:42 PM, Shelton Police Officers located Atesar in the parking lot of a business in the 600 block of W. Franklin Street. Officers caught up with him inside the business and told him he was under arrest for the burglary. Atesar actively resisted arrest and a struggle ensued. The arresting officer deployed OC-10 (Pepper Spray) and was able to place Atesar in handcuffs.
Atesar was booked into the Mason County Jail on burglary charges, as well as obstructing a police officer and resisting arrest.
“This is a great example of the Shelton Police and the community working together in partnership to identify a suspected burglar,” said Captain Mike Fiola. “Future burglars, take warning. There are a lot of cameras out there and the community will help us find you.”
