Win for SHS Soccer; Losses for SHS Baseball & Golf; NM Track Results

The Shelton boys soccer team made it three in a row Tuesday knocking off Yelm 4 to 1. The Highclimbers are now 3-and-0 on the season, 2-and-0 in the South Sound Conference. Shelton travels to Gig Harbor Thursday and plays at Central Kitsap Saturday.

The Shelton baseball team dropped its South Sound Conference opener Tuesday falling at Capital 3 to 0. The Highclimbers were held to two hits – both by Max “Falcon” Johnson. Johnson took the loss on the mound, allowing three runs on five hits while striking out four and walking two. The Cougars’ Kyle Casperson earned the win, pitching seven innings, striking out seven and walking four. Both teams are 2-and-2 on the season. Shelton is 0-and-1 in the Conference. Capital is 1-and-0 in the SSC. The teams play again today (Wednesday, March 20th). MasonWebTV Powered by HCC will broadcast the game live.

The Shelton golf teams lost to Peninsula Tuesday. The Lady Highclimbers fell 125 to 60 while the boys lost 52 to 42. The ‘Climber golfers take on North Thurston next Tuesday.

The North Mason track and field team topped a meet against Port Angeles and Port Townsend.

Top performing Bulldogs:
Anthoney Arreola won the boys’ 100 meters and the boys’ 200 meters.
Noah Hasselblad took the boys’ 1600 meters and the boys’ 3200 meters.
Savannah Knutson won the girls’ 3200 meters and was 2nd in the girls’ 300-meter hurdles.
Seth Conner won the boys’ 400 meters followed by Nathan Fjeld and Dion Nanez.
James Burch took the boys’ 110-meter hurdels and the 300-meter hurdles.
In the boys’ shot put and discus, Posiulai Tupolo and Grady Durbin were one and two.
The boys’ javelin went to Miller Campbell followed by Jacob Anderson.
The girls’ javelin was won by Carli Durbin followed by Felicity Fowler.
Christopher Ramsey won the boys’ long jump and was 2nd in the boys’ triple jump.
Isabella Porter was 2nd in the girls’ 100-meter hurdles.
Ryan Crookshank was 2nd the boys’ 800 meters.
Reese Smelcer was 2nd in the boys’ 100 meters and 3rd in the boys’ 200 meters.
Kira Schwerzler was 2nd in the girls’ 100 meters and 2nd in the girls’ 200 meters.
Nathan Fjeld was 2nd in the boys’ high jump.
The team of Jacob Anderson, Christopher Ramsey, Anthoney Arreola and Reese Smelcer won the boys’ 4×100 relay
The team of Ryan Crookshank, Noah Hasselblad, Nathan Fjeld and Cole Varick won the boys’ 4×400 relay.
The track teams from Belfair are off until April 11th when they travel to Bremerton to take on the Knights and Klahowya.
