Two Knife Assaults in Shelton

A 42-year-old Shelton man was assaulted with a knife Sunday (3/17/19) at
approximately 8:00 PM near the 2300 block of Adams Street. The man was walking home from a local business on Olympic Highway North when three Hispanic males in a red sedan approached him. One of the three males brandished a knife and held it to the victim’s body. A fight ensued and the victim sustained non-life threatening injuries. The suspects then fled the scene in the red sedan.

There are no further details regarding the suspects or vehicle at this time.

This is the second knife assault in the City of Shelton this month. The first assault occurred on March 3rd near the same location as last night’s attack. That incident resulted in the arrest of Guadalupe Velazquez-Ramirez on 2nd degree assault charges. Mr. Ramirez remains in custody at the Mason County Jail pending trial.

Detectives are currently investigating both cases, and are looking into whether or not either attack may have been gang related. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Shelton Police Department at 360-426-4441.
