A Shelton woman suffered minor injuries after she fell asleep and drove into the waters of Hood Canal Monday morning.
The Washington State Patrol says the 20-year-old was driving a 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser southbound on U.S. Highway 101 just after 8 AM. At milepost 335, which is near Potlatch State Park, the woman fell asleep. The PT Cruiser crossed the center line and went into the water.
The driver, identified as SteveyAnn M. Gullotto, 20 of Shelton, was transported to Mason General Hospital in Shelton.
A passenger in the Chrysler, 30-year-old Lee R. Baldyga (hometown not released), was not injured.
The PT Cruiser sustained “reportable” damage and was impounded.
