Rear-End Crash at 101 & SR-3 Injures One

A Shelton teen was injured in a rear-end crash on U.S. Highway 101 near the interchange with State Route 3 Friday morning. According to a Washington State Patrol press memo, a 2008 Scion XB and a 2005 Ford F-150 pickup were northbound on 101 about 4:15 AM. The Ford was at a high rate of speed and struck the rear of the Scion as the vehicles approached Highway 3. The pickup left the roadway and rolled over. The Scion came to rest in the median.

The 18-year-old Shelton male driving the pickup was injured and transported to Mason General Hospital in Shelton.

The 27-year-old male driver of the Scion was not injured.

The Trooper’s report indicates that alcohol or drugs were involved in this crash and list speed and DUI as the cause.
