Due to the weather conditions, the WIAA has cancelled all boys and girls regional wrestling tournaments in the best interest of safety and equal opportunity for all participants.
To address these cancellations, the WIAA staff and event managers are developing a 32-entry WIAA Mat Classic tournament that will begin on Friday morning, February 15, 2019. The details of that schedule will be released by early Monday, February 11.
Under this revised format, those wrestlers who qualified for Regional Wrestling will advance to the Mat Classic. That means Shelton is sending 12 wrestlers to the Tacoma Dome and North Mason, which was to host 2A Regional Wrestling this weekend, will have 13 participants – assuming the top four sub regional finishers advance.
The Highclimbers expected to be among the 32-entries per weight class are Ne’a Moffett (130 lbs.), Jazlind Warren (170 lbs.), Quinn Lacy (235 lbs.), Julia Ragsdale (100 lbs.), Miracle Horne (115 lbs.), Claudia Ramirez (140 lbs.), Cameron MacAlevy (120 lbs.), Peace Lee (126 lbs.), Robbie Allred (145 lbs.), Trevor Meier (182 lbs.), Ammon Anderson (195 lbs.) and Braden MacAlevy (132 lbs.)
Bulldog entries: Juan-Miguel Jesus-Miguel (113 lbs.), Domingo Pedro-Gaspar (126 lbs.), Thomas Francisco-Juan (138 lbs.), Cole Varick (152 lbs.), Daniel Pulley (160 lbs.), Wylee Rice (285 lbs.), Brenden Miller (285 lbs.), Izaiah Smith (106 lbs.), Jared Dyer (220 lbs.), Juan Pedro-Alonzl (132 lbs.), Gabe Morton (152 lbs.), Damien Canady (182 lbs.), and Devin Rea (195 lbs.)
