Shelton Falls in Spanaway Lake

The Shelton boys’ basketball team lost at Spanaway Lake Wednesday 67 to 49 in the first round of the 2019 West Central / Southwest 3A Boys District Basketball Tournament on MasonWebTV Powered by HCC.

The Highclimbers trailed the Sentinels for all but the opening minutes of the game when they held a 3-0 lead. Spanaway Lake then went on a 10-0 run and didn’t look back.

The Sentinels slowly inched aware from Shelton, building a 12-point lead in the third quarter and pushing that to 20 in the fourth behind Josiah Millen’s 22 points and Terrell Williams’ 20. Spanaway Lake heads to Capital – the South Sound Conference number one team – Friday.

Ty Thompson lead the Highclimbers in scoring with 20 points. Shelton’s next game is Tuesday at Rogers High School in Puyallup against the loser of Friday’s Mountain View/Lincoln game. Tip off is 7:45 PM and MasonWebTV Powered by HCC will carry the game.
