Hit-and-Run Suspect Booked into Jail

The man suspected of hitting a 10-year-old boy on U.S. Highway 101 near Oyster Bay Road Sunday has turned himself in.

At approximately 3 PM Wednesday, Washington State Patrol troopers took Irven Jacobs into custody after the suspect called detectives from a location in Yelm. Jacobs was booked into the Thurston County jail and charged with felony hit-and-run.

Jacobs is suspected of hitting 10-year-old Isaiah Bermeo on U.S. 101 then fleeing the scene on Sunday, January 27th. Isaiah wandered off from his home just minutes before the incident. He was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with life-threatening injuries.
