State Highway Construction 1/20 to 1/26

The following is a summary of road construction and maintenance scheduled on state highways around Mason County and adjacent areas from January 20, 2019 to January 26, 2019.


Highway: US 101 Region: Olympic County: Mason Location: Milepost(s) 337 to 338
Description: One-way alternating traffic for utility work.  
Work Schedule: 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, and Tuesday through Friday, Jan. 22-25.

Highway: SR 108 Region: Olympic County: Mason Location: Milepost(s) 9.7 to 11.8
Description: Utility crews for Mason County PUD #3 will raise existing power lines along SR 108 between Hurley Waldrop Road and the US 101 interchange. Drivers may encounter one-way alternating traffic with flaggers. 
Work Schedule:  8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each weekday through Thursday, Feb. 28. No work will occur:

  • Monday, Jan. 21
  • Monday, Feb. 18

Highway: SR 119 Region: Olympic County: Mason Location: Milepost(s) 0.8 to 10.9
Description: One-way alternating traffic with flaggers as utility crews replace lines. 
Work Schedule: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each weekday through Wednesday, May 1.

Highway: SR 302 Region: Olympic County: Pierce Location: Milepost(s) 10.6 to 11.3
Description: One-way alternating traffic with flaggers and occasional shoulder closures for utility work.
Work Schedule: 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday from Jan.22 to Feb. 5

Highway: SR 8 Region: Olympic County: Grays Harbor Location: Milepost(s) 0 to 11.5
Description: Expect a series of rolling slowdowns and shoulder closures in both directions of SR 8 for tree removal.
Work Schedule: 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23.

Highway: SR 8 Region: Olympic County: Grays Harbor Location: Milepost(s) 6.8 to 6.3
Description: Westbound right lane closure for guardrail repair. 
Work Schedule: 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24.


US 101 – Old Gardiner Rd to N of W Uncas Rd – Paving and Bridge Deck Repair
US 101 Region: Olympic County: Jefferson Location: Milepost(s) 275.8 to 283.9
Description: Starting spring 2019, drivers can expect one-way alternating traffic as crews repave nearly 8 miles of US 101 from east of the Clallam-Jefferson County line to north of the US 101/SR 104 interchange. See more at the project web page
