Basketball: Shelton Boys Fly by Yelm, Girls Fall

The Shelton boys’ basketball team flew by Yelm Wednesday 78 to 51.

The Highclimbers never trailed in the game building a 13-point first quarter lead. The ‘Climbers led by as many as 24 in the second quarter and were up 30 in the second half.

Ty Thompson led Shelton with 18 points. Tyler Auld and Kyler Gall each added 10 points. Noah Benson and Jason Kenyon chipped in 9 point each.

Tristan Pyette led Yelm with 14 points.

The Highclimbers improved to 10-and-5 on the season, 6-and-3 in the South Sound Conference. Shelton hosts Gig Harbor Friday on MasonWebTV Powered by HCC.

The Shelton girls’ basketball team lost at Yelm Wednesday 59 to 36. The Lady Highclimbers drop to 4-and-11 on the season, 2-and-7 in the South Sound Conference. Shelton travels to Gig Harbor on Friday.

High School Sports Results from 1/15/19

The North Mason girls’ basketball team lost at Sequim Tuesday 68 to 29. The Lady Bullodgs drop to 8-and-8 on the season, 1-and-7 in the Olympic League. The girls from Belfair host Kingston Friday.

The North Mason boys’ basketball team lost to Sequim Tuesday 70 to 62. The Bulldogs dropped to 6-and-9 on the season, 1-and-7 in the Olympic League. The boys from Belfair travel to Kingston Friday.

The North Mason girls’ bowling team lost to Olympic Tuesday 6 to 1. The Lady Bulldogs are now 4-and-7 on the season. They play in the Olympic League Bowling Championships Thursday at All Star Lanes in Silverdale.

The Shelton girls’ bowling team wrapped up the regular season Tuesday with a 4 to 1 win over Central Kitsap. The Lady Highclimbers finish at the top of the South Sound Conference at 12-and-2, 15-and-2 overall. Shelton plays in the SSC Bowling Tournament Friday at Westside Lanes in Olympia.

The Mary M. Knight boys’ basketball team scored 29 points in the third quarter while holding Oakville to just three as the Owls put away the Acorns Tuesday 65 to 24. The boys’ from Matlock improved to 5-and-0 in the 1B Coastal League, 9-and-5 overall. The MMK boys host Taholah Friday.
