A Shelton Police vehicle was struck by an SUV while responding to call Friday morning. The Washington State Patrol is investigating and says the Shelton PD vehicle, a 2016 Ford Explorer, was northbound on First Street (which is also State Route 3) with its lights and sirens activated just before 8 AM. A 2001 Isuzu Rodeo was stopped at the traffic light on westbound Railroad Avenue. The Isuzu proceeded westbound when the light turned green and was unable to see the police vehicle. The Rodeo struck the passenger side of the Explorer in the intersection.
No one was injured.
