Two Injured in Three-Vehicle Crash on SR-3

Two people were injured in a three-vehicle crash on State Route 3 at Anthony Road Thursday. The State Patrol reports the crash occurred about 5 PM when a northbound Saturn sedan was stopped waiting to turn left onto Anthony Road and was struck in the rear by a northbound 2013 Ford F-150 pickup truck. That collision pushed the sedan into the southbound lane of SR-3 where it collided with a southbound 2013 Toyota pickup. The Toyota rolled and came to rest on its side in the northbound lane. The Saturn ended up in the southbound lane. Highway 3 was blocked for nearly two and a half hours.

The driver of the sedan, Billy T. Hamilton, 42 of Port Orchard, and the driver of the Toyota, Gerad R. Low, 43 of Shelton, were injured and transported by aid car to Mason General Hospital.
The driver of the Ford, Dawn V. English, 43 of Shelton, was not injured.

The Trooper’s report indicates that the cause of this crash was distracted driving.
