Overnight Wind Storm Knocks Out Power

A wind storm overnight knocked out power to about a third of Mason PUD 3 customers. A wind gust of 56 MPH was recorded in Dayton.

The first outages were reported about 1:15 AM and at the peak there were over 9,700 customers were without power. The outages spread from Allyn south to the Thurston County line including areas in Shelton; west to Star Lake and Matlock; and north along U.S. Highway 101.

As of 7 AM Sunday, there are about 2,700 still without power.

Those areas are Arcadia Shores, Bay East, Cole Road, Lynch Road, Mill Creek Road, Taylor Towne, and Totten Shores as well as numerous small scattered outages throughout Mason County.
