The City of Shelton is seeking individuals to fill a position on the Shelton Civil Service Commission. This is for a six-year term.
The Civil Service Commission meets on the third Thursday of January, May, August, and November at 9:30 am at the Shelton Civic Center, and is charged with merit based recruitment, testing, hiring, and promotion of Police department employees under RCW 41.12 Civil Service for City Police.
Each commissioner is appointed by the City Manager, and serves a six-year term without compensation. Civil Service Commissioners must be citizens of the United States, residents of Shelton for at least three years immediately preceding appointment, and eligible to vote in Mason County. The terms of each commissioner do not run consecutively. Only two commissioners can be of the same political party.
