Shelton Boys Drop 2nd Game in Vancouver

The Shelton boys’ basketball team dropped their second game at the Fort Vancouver Holiday Tournament Friday, falling to Mountain View 79 to 72.

The Thunder started slow but went on a run late in the first quarter and led by as many as 12 points in the first half. The Highclimbers battled back and had a brief one-point lead before another Mountain View run ended the half with the Thunders up 36 to 33.

In the third quarter, MV built a nine-point lead which Shelton cut to one before yet another Thunder run in the fourth (fueled by ‘Climber turnovers) put them up 11. The Highclimbers finished with 19 turnovers.

Kaden Horn led Mountain View with 22 points. Sam Frosh added 11, And Makei Anderson finished with 10.

Ty Thompson led Shelton in the loss with 16 points. Tyler Auld finished with 15 points. And Jason Kenyon chipped in 10 points before fouling out with 3:26 remaining in the game.

The Highclimbers drop to 7-and-4 on the season. They play host Fort Vancouver at 11:15 AM Saturday on MasonWebTV Powered by HCC. The Trappers lost to Wilson (Portland) 70 to 69.
