The unemployment rate in Mason County rose in November. According to Employment Security Department, the County’s unemployment rate for last month was 6 percent. That’s up a half percentage point from the revised rate for October but only one-tenth of a percent higher than November 2017’s rate of 5.9 percent.
Adjacent counties saw similar increases. There were three-tenths of a percent increases in unemployment in Kitsap (4.5%) and Pierce (4.9%) counties. A four-tenth of a percent increase in Thurston County (4.6%). And a half percent increase in Grays Harbor (6.5%) and Jefferson (5.4%) counties. Lewis County (6.1%) saw an increase of seven-tenths of a percent in unemployment in November.
