The Shelton boys’ basketball team knocked off North Thurston Wednesday 64 to 45.
The Highclimbers started the game with a 7-0 run and were up 15 at the end of the first quarter. Shelton led by as many at 16 in the second quarter, 18 in the third and 21 in the fourth. The Rams did make some runs closing the gap to five point in the second and third but each time the ‘Climbers would pull away.
Shelton was led by Ty Thompson who make 10 of 15 from the field and finished with 21 points. Casey Badillo-Brown hit four three-pointers and add 16 points. Noah Benson hit three three’s for 9 points. As a team, the Highclimbers hit 10 from beyond the arch.
Tim Tenkley led North Thurston with 21 points – hitting five three-pointers.
Shelton improved to 6-and-1 on the season, 3-and-1 in the South Sound Conference. The ‘Climbers hit the road Friday and travel to Auburn Riverside. MasonWebTV Powered by HCC will broadcast that game live.
The Shelton girls’ basketball team lost at North Thurston Wednesday 58 to 46. The Lady Highclimbers are now 1-and-6 on the season, 1-and-4 in the South Sound Conference. Their next action is Wednesday in the T-Town Throwdown at Wilson High School in Tacoma.
