Despite eight Highclimbers posting wins (two by pins), the Shelton wrestling team lost to Central Kitsap Tuesday 36 to 34. Half the Cougars’ points came on forfeits by the ‘Climbers. Michael Gilman and Trevor Meier pinned their opponents. Cameron MacAlvey Peace Lee, Robert Alfred, Beau Ward, Maurice Castro and Ammon Anderson posted wins for Shelton. The Highclimbers travel to the Hammerhead Tournament at the Kitsap Pavilion Friday and Saturday.
The Shelton boys’ swimming team beat Lakes 100 to 83 Tuesday. Individual results were not reported. The Highclimbers take on Capital Thursday at Evergreen State College.
The Shelton girls’ bowling team knocked off Gig Harbor 5 to 0 Tuesday. The Highclimbers are 8-and-2 on the season. They take on Timberline Thursday at Aztec Lanes in Olympia.
The North Mason boys’ basketball team beat Kingston 78 to 53 Tuesday. Ryan Pearson led the Bulldogs with a career high 35 points on 14 of 19 shooting. Pearson also broke the team’s single-game scoring record by a point. The previous record was held by current NM coach Brett Skogstad. The boys from Belfair improved to 4-and-4 on the season, 1-and-3 in the Olympic League. North Mason travels to Port Angeles Friday.
The North Mason girls’ basketball team lost at Kingston Tuesday 57 to 47. The Lady Bulldogs have dropped their last three games after starting 5-and-0. Their overall record is 5-and-3, 0-and-3 in the Olympic League. The girls from Belfair host Port Angeles Friday.
The Mary M. Knight girls’ basketball team dominated Three Rivers Christian for the second time in a little more than a week. The Lady Owls beat the Lady Eagle 45 to 14 Tuesday (and won 51 to 22 on Dec. 4th. The MMK girls are 3-and-1 on the season. They host Rainier Christian tonight (Wed. Dec. 12th).
The Mary M. Knight boys’ basketball team was held to five points in the first quarter and eight points in the third and lost at Three Rivers Christian Tuesday 56 to 40. The Owls are now 2-and-3 on the season. They host Firm Foundation tonight (Wed. Dec. 12th).
