A Shelton woman was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle Wednesday after being ejected from a truck on U.S. Highway 101 north of Lilliwaup. According to the State Patrol, the 2006 Ford F-150 pickup was northbound on 101 about 5 PM. At milepost 323 (five miles north of Lilliwaup), the truck exited the highway to the right, striking bushes and trees. The woman was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected. The Ford came to rest 20 feet off the roadway.
The woman was identified as Jacqueline Victoria Brewer, 29 of Shelton.
The driver of the truck, Dustin William Homan, 27 of Shelton, was also injured but refused aid.
A third person in the truck, James Robert Lucero, 43 of Shelton, was not injured.
The Trooper’s report indicates that driver fatigue was a contributing factor to the crash but the investigation into the cause continues.
