The Shelton football team lost to Gig Harbor Friday 50 to 14.
The first half belonged to the Tides, building a 43 to 0 halftime lead but the Highclimbers found the end zone for the first time since week two in the third quarter.
Shelton’s Dom Monette blocked a punt and recovered the ball on the Gig Harbor 20 yard line.
That special teams play set up Ivory Alexander’s two-yard TD run five plays later.
On the first play of the fourth quarter, Anthony Boren returned a punt 57 yards for the ‘Climbers’ second score.
The loss drops Shelton to 0-and-7 on the season. The Highclimbers return to Jack Stark Field next Friday to take on Yelm. The game is Homecoming and senior night.
The North Mason football team lost at North Kitsap Friday 47 to 6 Friday. The Bulldogs only score came with about seven minutes remaining. The boys from Belfair went 81 yards on a Shawn Ward pass to Anthony Arreola. North Mason drops 3-and-4 on the season, 1-and-3 in the Olympic League. The Bulldogs return to Phil Pugh Stadium next Friday to face Kingston.
The Mary M. Knight football team knocked off Oakville 60 to 8 Friday. The Owls are 3-and-3 on the season. MMK returns home next Saturday to Wishkah Valley. Kickoff in Matlock is 1 PM..
