A car struck a truck on U.S. Highway 101 near Shelton Matlock Road Sunday. A State Patrol press memo says a 1996 Ford Mustang was on the ramp from Shelton Matlock Road to southbound 101 just before noon. The driver of the Mustang lost control of the car while accelerating on the ramp. The Ford then crossed the center line and struck a 1998 Dodge Ram pickup that was northbound on 101.
The driver of the Mustang, Kimberly A. Holland, 47 of Shelton, was transported to Mason General Hospital.
A passenger in the Ford, Joey Harrison 57 of Shelton, and the driver of the Dodge, Kay E. Piehl, 74 of Port Townsend, were not injured.
Both vehicles were totaled.
