The Shelton football team was shutout by Timberline Friday 42 to 0.
The Blazers scored touchdowns on their first six possessions while the Highclimbers again had difficulty moving the ball and failed take advantage of two fumble recoveries.
The only scoring opportunity for Shelton came after the ‘Climbers recovered a fumbled punt return at the Timberline 21. Shelton then had to settle for a 37-yard field goal try but the snap went over the holders head.
Shelton drops to 0-and-6 on the season. The Blazers improves to 4-and-2 overall, 3-and-1 in the South Sound Conference.
The Highclimbers hit the road next week, traveling to Roy Anderson Field in Purdy to take on Gig Harbor.
The North Mason football team lost a non-league game to LaSalle Friday 33 to 6. The Bulldogs scored their touchdown late in the third quarter. The boys from Belfair dropped to 3-and-3 on the season. They return to Olympic League play next Friday traveling to Poulsbo to face North Kitsap.
The Mary M. Knight football team lost a non-league game at home to Lyle/Wishram Saturday 65 to 6. The Owls trailed the Cougars 14 to 6 after the first quarter and were down 37 to 6 at the half. The second half belonged to Lyle/Wishram. The win bumped the Cougars’ record up to 4-and-1. The loss dropped MMK to 2-and-3. The boys from Matlock travel to Oakville next Friday.
