Mason County is seeking applicants to fill several positions on citizen boards.
There are two openings on the Mason County Historic Preservation Commission, one opening on the Mason County Parks and Trails Advisory Board, and two openings on the Lewis-Mason-Thurston Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council.
The Historic Preservation Commission identifies and actively encourages the conservation of Mason County’s historic resources by initiating and maintaining a register of historic places and reviewing proposed changes to register properties. They also work to raise community awareness of the county’s history and historic resources, and serve as primary resource in matters of history, historic planning and preservation.
The Parks and Trails Advisory Board provides recommendations to the Board of Commissioners regarding the planning, acquisition and development of parks, trails and related programs in Mason County.
The Lewis-Mason-Thurston Area Agency on Aging provides home and community services for seniors and adults with disabilities to help them remain living in their own homes. The advisory council makes recommendations to the governing board and staff. More information is available at www.LMTAAA.org.
If interested in serving on one of these boards, you must complete an advisory board form that can be downloaded from the county’s website (here is a direct link to the application: www.co.mason.wa.us/forms/advisory/Advisoryboardapp.pdf). An application is also available by calling the Commissioners’ office at 360-427-9670 ext. 419, 360-275-4467 ext. 419 or 360-482-5269 ext. 419. Completed applications should be submitted to the Commissioners’ office, 411 N. 5th Street in Shelton. All positions are open until filled.
