The Shelton football team was shut out by Central Kitsap Friday 50 to 0.
The Highclimbers finished with 57 yards rushing and 15 yards passing while the Cougars had 228 yards on the ground and 113 yards in the air.
Shelton drops to 0-and-5 on the season. CK improves to 4-and-1, 2-and-1 in the South Sound Conference.
Next Friday, the Highclimbers host Timberline.
The North Mason football team came up short of Bremerton Friday falling 28 to 27. The Bulldogs were down 20 to 6 in the second quarter and rallied in the third quarter to take a 21 to 20 lead. The boys from Belfair extended that lead to 27 to 20 with 7 minutes remaining in the fourth.
However, the Knights responded on their next possession, going 51 yards to retake the lead with a touchdown and 2-point conversion.
North Mason’s next possession started on their own 24 but ended on the 46 as the Bremerton defense stepped up.
The Bulldogs’ Reese Smelcer and Shawn Ward scored two touchdowns each. Smelcer caught a 14-yard TD pass from Ward, and ran it in from 34 yards. Ward had two one-yard TD runs.
North Mason drops to 3-and-2 on the season, 1-and-2 in the Olympic League. The Bulldogs host La Salle next Friday.
