An Air Quality Alert for smoke has been issued by the Olympic Region Clean Air Agency and the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency.
Air quality readings across the central and south Puget Sound region have been in the unhealthy category due to smoke from regional and local fires. Air quality readings in the “unhealthy” or “unhealthy for sensitive groups” category will likely continue at times through at least Sunday and perhaps beyond.
Everyone, especially sensitive groups, should limit time spent outdoors, avoid strenuous activities outdoors, and choose light indoor activities.
Children, the elderly, and individuals with respiratory illnesses are most at risk of serious health effects. If you experience respiratory distress, you should speak with your doctor.
