Licensing to Shut Down Labor Day Weekend

The Washington State Department of Licensing (DOL) has announced they will be upgrading the driver licensing system at the end of the month.  As a result, all licensing offices throughout the state will be shut down starting August 31 (Friday before Labor Day) through September 3 (Labor Day).  This will include the three licensing offices in Mason County; North Mason Chamber of Commerce Licensing, Mountain View Licensing, and the Auditor’s Office Licensing department.

This shutdown will prevent any person from purchasing car tabs or other licensing services throughout Washington State, either in person or online, on Aug. 31, Sept. 1, Sept, 2 and Sept. 3.

All licensing services will resume, in person and online, during regular business hours on Tuesday, September 4th.

Mason County Auditor Karen Herr is encouraging residents to plan ahead if you need to buy car tabs or other licensing services this month. She also recommends customers visit a licensing office soon to process any necessary vehicle transactions prior to the shutdown.
