The Primary Election results are now officials and the write-in contest for Mason County Auditor went to Charles G. Rhodes who will face Paddy McGuire in November.
Rhodes and Steve VanDenover filed as write-in candidates after the regular filing period during which McGuire was the only to file for the seat currently held by Karen Herr.
In the Auditor race, 11,071 voted for McGuire while there were 1,056 write-ins. Of those write-ins, Rhodes received 466 votes and 92 went to VanDenover.
To qualify for the General Election, a candidate must be one of the top two candidates and received at least one-percent of the vote. Rhodes met those requirements and told MasonWebTV Powered by HCC he is humbled by the results.
