2018 Co-Ed Softball Champion Crowned

Hiawatha Evergreens crowned City of Shelton Parks and Recreation Co-Ed Softball Champions.

Shelton Parks and Recreation wrapped up another competitive summer coed softball season on August 13th. Ten teams have been enjoying the summer weather on the diamond since June 11th.

After completing round-robin play on August 2nd, teams were seeded into a single elimination championship tournament. As the top two seeds, Shelton Athletic Club (SAC) and Steph’s Espresso had a bye during the first round. In the first round of play, Fuddpuckers beat Boomstix, Hiawatha Evergreens over Paymore, Bat-Intentions over Brad’s Concrete, and Shelton Dental over Camco.

In the second round leading into the semifinals, SAC out beat the Fuddpuckers, and Bat-Intentions over Steph’s Espresso.

In the semifinals, Hiawatha Evergreens beat SAC, 10-4, earning them a place in the championship game. Bat-Intentions beat Shelton Dental, 12-7, advancing them to the championship.

The championship game was held on August 13th. In the end, Hiawatha Evergreens pulled through with a 12-7 win over Bat-Intentions.
